当地时间7月29日，国际足联宣布对阿根廷足协启动多项纪律调查，同时因美加墨世界杯决赛后冲突一事，对阿根廷球员帕雷德斯、莫利纳以及助理教练阿亚拉启动纪律调查。这三人因采取“攻击”行为，可能将面临长期禁赛。

针对阿根廷足协的多项调查，涉及赛事呐喊口号与所谓的“不当标语”，其中包括本届世界杯半决赛击败英格兰队后，阿根廷队球员打出写有“马尔维纳斯群岛属于阿根廷”的横幅，以及将横幅留在球场内的行为。阿根廷足协同时还遭到歧视与种族主义相关指控的调查。

国际足联在声明中表示：“依据《国际足联纪律准则》，现已给予涉案方陈述立场的机会，此后国际足联纪律委员会将适时作出裁决。”

此外，阿根廷球员阿尔马达、西班牙中场加维也因存在“非体育行为”，被启动相关调查。
