Western North Carolina small businesses report tens of thousands in 'wasted' tariff fees

Small business operators in Hendersonville and Brevard, North Carolina, are reacting with frustration to a trade policy they say 'hurt small businesses nationwide.' Brian Pittillo of Southern Alarm and Security reported spending tens of thousands of dollars on tariff surcharges for imported security equipment. Meanwhile, the Main Street Alliance is now calling on the federal government to issue refunds to the 81.5% of small businesses nationwide that were forced to raise prices to offset these costs.
