Sci-Tech Oscars announced

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced 15 scientific and technical achievements as recipients of this year’s Sci-Tech Oscars. Honorees include innovators from Wētā FX, Industrial Light & Magic, and Sony Pictures Imageworks for their groundbreaking work in layered material rendering and animation toolsets. These technologies have fundamentally elevated photorealism and artistic expression in global filmmaking since their inception.
